Vintage 1970's Mexican Wedding or Fiesta Dress by Gonzalo Bauer for Girasol. Gonzalo Bauer was one of the leading North American designers in the hippy counter-culture movement. His pieces exemplify bohemian style and are of the highest quality and workmanship. Constucted in crochet and pintuck tiers cascade to a full sweeping skirt. Puffed sleeves with lace bracelet edges. Includes matching belt. Fabric is a heavy quality cotton. True color is deep purple seen in 1st photos. MEASUREMENTS: 18" Armpit to Armpit 14" Across at Waist 29" Across Hips fully extended 23" Sleeve Length down outer curve approximate as there is no exact shoulder seam to use for a guide 20" Sleeve Length inner side Armpit to Cuff 48" Long from Armpit to Hem 57" Total Length from top of center Shoulder to Hem As tried on by an XXS, I'm judging it as a Small, but it could work for a smallish medium, depending on your measurements. Please carefully compare these measurements to your own to ensure proper fit. In overall beautiful vintage condition, color is bold and bright, all lace crochet is intact. FLAWS NOTED: - Reminants of an age type stain at lower front area, shown in photos. Not a deal breaker, I hope, as it is totally concealed by the draping of the dress when on the body. -Color loss/Age Spotting across at top of shoulders.
